Wolf Counsel
Age Of Madness/Reign Of Chaos
Czar Of Bullets
The band is back with brand new album to bring magic to those snowy winter days I can observe out of the window right now. There is something wizardry in this sorrow and slow doom metal album that keeps me under the charming spell of their music.
The main guitar leads in Wolvenearth has had to be done particularly good because the song maintain almost the same riffs for over 5 minutes which is the length of the track. This is slow song with medieval vocals and cathedral atmosphere.
Semper Occvltus is groovier and faster song with little lame vocals but better arrangements and rhythmic patterns. They finish the song very doomy on guitars with several sombre atmospherics.
S/T song is very powerful with groundbreaking sound and has a few moments of first Black Sabbath, fine groove at the end and nice solo...
O`Death and voice of Daniela Venegas in this song it was something unexpected. Her vocals are more melodic and supported by band`s stronger vocals which I find as cool symbiosis. Musically, they keep it Wolf Counsel of course and it is light in the dark among other sounds of this album.
Through Eternal Solitude which is a next track, the band comes back to accent even more heaviness in the music. With just few guitar chords they define how easy their simple approach of song writing can crush on your mind and you could have no choice but like it and being thrilled.
A Coffin Nails has some fine vocal effects but it`s actually OK, they still sing with clean ones, too .It`s another heavy song but more trance. Tendency of this song is to possess you until you lost yourself in this very special song...
The last track called Remembrance sounds very majestic with massive, simple riffs. You could feel like you walk among tombstones of the cemetery... If you just dare to free your imagination...
Candlemass with Messiah Marcolin was able to write songs like this one .Greatly dark, memorable and essential doom metal song and definitely another highlight of the album.
