Witcher is Hungarian duo playing atmospheric black/doom metal. I have listened to their music with attention as I always do and for me, a tone of those songs is musically very similar to each other. There are melo-dramatic and too monumental sounding ideas for keyboard that seems to be too much on the first plan in this album. Black metal vocals sound just acceptable, drums and guitars very bad because of conditions in which this album was recorded were obviously insufficient to this kind of music that need a little bit more splendor and quality that they do not have much. The songs have 90`s vibe and sentiment to sort of tragic romantic emotions which, in this album is what keyboardist plays with some melodies to it. Songs are not fast paced, simple-doomy character of music sometimes crosses harsh black metal area and paradox is that it`s just how bad guitars sound here which are part of amateur sound. Album ends with Tchaikovskych cover which, of course, is a great classical song. I am sure every one of you heard it.
In my opinion this album is repeating atmospheric metal from three decades ago when a lot of bands were looking ways to improve their music and sound, just as Witcher does in their songs. I'm far from being delighted after what I heard in their album, it's because of bad production and mixes - I can't hear most of guitar riffs here which I wanted to. Music itself is vulnerably emotional, the opposite side of it just sounds undone...
