Waldschrat
Metropolis Wird Fallen
Talheim Records
Waldschrat hails from Austria, Metropolis Wird Fallen is the second album in their discography.
By giving some light about the album production, it has to be written that album transcends 90`s black metal sound and music, with production that is just very solidly done and up to date.
Musically the songs from the band are bleak black metal compositions with some faster drumming and some grim guitar sound (Verfall Des Seins) that particularly in this record is very high-pitched and eerie. It`s also atmospheric album with melancholic leads, harmonies and obscure vocals shrieks which are so much in black meal dominion as we know it. All I just wrote can easily apply to all song of the album and my favourite picks are: Metropolises (wish there was more this metallic bass sound on the album as it is in this track), Augenblick and...
...There is the track called Zur Letzten Ruh that they have done a bit differently because of vocal chants which are done in style of Viking metal by which the song is super atmospheric, more spiritual and has some Bathory vibe to it . In the end of the song, a vocalist went totally nuts, so make sure you will listen to this song.
Album also has few slower moments (Des Sturmes Kind) with some melodic guitars as well but in general, it`s harsh and melancholic black metal record, played averagely in middle pace. It`s not that much extreme album if you forget for a while about faster fragments with drum blast beats, however these are elements very needed in their songs which made music of the band sound a bit more aggressive darker and very to the point.
