Voidhaven
Voidhaven
Solitude Productions
Voidhaven roars from Hamburg/Germany. The EP contains of 2 epic and atmospheric doom/death metal tracks. Voidhaven shaped very solid sound foundations for their songs so listening to their music comes easily.
In both tracks you can hear a lot of powerful and heavy guitar leads that go along with melancholic and sorrow arrangements which are being played by second guitarists. The pace of songs is slow and music ideas are very mind-soothing and interesting - like all the time. We have here two types of vocals. One is a growl that sound incredibly good, you can recognize words from the vocalist which indicates his very good performance. The band also uses clean vocals. Here, you can hear their singer who is actually modelling his voice shades the way it sounds quite amazing around the music. Both extreme and normal vocals performances are equally very convincing when you hear it.
Remember that it`s doom/death metal record so the emotions that the band transmits through music come from the kind of those associated with despair, sadness, uncertainty and such. They measure it all with great maturity and good sensitivity so the Voidhaven`s doom - in their sorrow (but not only) is a beautiful music journey.
As for debuting band, this EP is excellent beyond expectation.
