Ghosts Of The Past
Sixteentimes Music
After listening to the first few minutes of music, I just set myself up to hear good songs from this Swiss band. I have a few key words that can be applied to their songs; 70`s, psychedelic rock, vintage album production - especially the way the drummer plays is very old-school and the sound of his instruments (however silly this might be written) is a bit muffled but kind of original. As in those old days, the songs have some good improvisations and solos, especially from the guitarist, who also plays some trance-psychedelic fusions that act on the listener's emotions like songs of Led Zeppelin. So, you already know that it`s not metal album but heavy blues rock.
Most of the time, the vocalist of the band sings his lyrical verses quite good, although for me, the band did not do much of melodic vocals or choruses, which would allow me to enjoy all the music with better spectrum of dimensions (you know, Deep Purple and Judas Priest have it a lot). Bass sound really amazing throughout and the band is very creative.
Here are simply those songs that I am fond of listening to for reason that they give me joy and taste of 70`s rock mixed with good rock`n`roll vibe. The longer you play the album the more you get it:
Sails Of Misery (if guitar is sort of vessel for human mind then there is a lot of feelings going on in this track).
Under The Sea (Black Sabbath meets Rush)
Ghost Of The Past -moving riffs and just great arranged song.
Love – melodic, super cool guitar lead.
Other tracks? Listen, lose yourself to it and you won`t regret it.
