Terminattor
Evil Justice
Independent
Arnold Schwarzenegger in his first Terminator film has spoken 30 something words. I`ll write a bit more. That evil machine character he played was first, serious step to his later action movies. Soon after, he became a figure not only in movies but also in pop culture for long decades. Sorry to bother you but Terminator is one of those films I have to watch once a year, at least and I had to admit about it for no reason.
I do not know if Sao Paulo`s Terminattor with double t was any origin to name a band like a movie but I have no problem with this. I like Terminator name to cover any possible areas in worldwide culture; either it is art, music or whatever.
Brazilian Terminattor is a rebellious thrash metal band for good cause. They sing about suffering, hate, corrupted government and weak system that serves few people with power to manipulate millions.. This is their debut EP, with 5 songs and unsettled, dirty old metal sound. Production is more demo-wise but they handled their sound much better than a lot of album productions from the 80`s I`ve heard. I mention it because Terminattor music-wise, plays like bands from that era. To just recall all early albums from Slayer, Kreator, when they evilized and infected metal world with new genre, known today as thrash metal. Terminattor walks same path as these bands and you can imagine what`s coming from them: speed, aggression, furious riffs, infernal energy and very in your face music and lyrics that could poison your mind. The songs are very well written with a bit of melodies but for most time there is no excuse and they just fuel those tracks with proper thrashing attitude and music destruction. I like to think they forged those songs on fire because it`s really spontaneous, raw and not much calculated piece of thrash metal. Otherwordly, they are not band that cares for perfection in music or polished production as it is in North American and European productions. I guess it is very South American thing to be a bit sloppy on production process but differences make nations and every nation is different. So, for sake of not being the same as other countries, Terminattor is influenced by famous thrash records for sure but sounds pretty much South American.
I am really glad to have opportunity to hear this godforsaken, evil EP from them. I could say they are very much alike a quote from one of their song which goes like that:
...Let the fire rise
Untill it gets to the skies
You better start to pray
Cause we are on our way
Destroyers...
I have good feeling and even better vibes from this band. Thrash Till Death with Terminattor.
