Spiritual Holocaust
Echoes Of The Apocalypse
More Hate Productions
The latest - second album of the Finnish band Spiritual Holocaust is a very Scandinavian style (Dismember, Krypts) death metal with melodic guitar leads, which glow dark in a creepy and brutal realm of this album. Cold and deep death metal growls from the vocalist pierce throughout the bleakness of band`s sound where striking fire of the beast (monstrously layered vocals in song Worldwide Domination rule!) delivers singer`s lyrical content to your ears, where you will find no peace.
Crunchy sound of guitars and bass of this album is pretty severe when guitarists shred at mid and fast tempos (Trenches Of Despair, Serpents For Saints) , although Spiritual Holocaust takes their time, to slow down, and crush you by some slimy with spikes heavy riffs - Faceless Bodies, Awaken In Casket . Some tracks on the album are better structured, with more levels of depth and atmosphere (Worldwide Domination), other songs are written more simplistically, and behind every musical ideas of the band, lies the empire called old school death metal! I still have no trouble to get myself into it as it was 25-30 years ago, I still like the magic of Scandinavian death metal sound - it`s very special, just like on this album by Spiritual Holocaust!
Echoes Of The Apocalypse is one of those records that I like music for what it is, which is an enormously heavy sounding death metal from this Finnish band. If you did not know their name - only music, you could easily confuse them with Swedish bands, which is just how Spiritual Holocaust sounds and produced this album. I like brutality and heaviness of their songs mixed with certain darkness that they spread in music (S/T track). Album is armed with incredible guitar groove and dirty sound, which make my speakers tremble more than usual (Memories From Mass Grave, Apocalyptic Aeon). Spiritual Holocaust sounds atmospheric at times, without using any keyboards and shit by the band (Last Rays Of The Sun). I like the music and the vibes out of the songs, I like when sound of Echoes Of The Apocalypse breaks my wall, which makes it all more remarkable experience with my headphones on.
I recommend this release for all old school death metal maniacs. If you like Scandinavian death metal production and you do not mind to hear it once again, this album is for you, and I know that this record is for me too. Despising any musical similarities to other bands in tracks of Spiritual Holocaust, there are songs of this Finnish that are characteristic only for them. Very solid album!
