...Scream like a pig whore...(Baptism)
Third album(15 tracks) of Sphere is in fact my first contact with a band on music ground. Sphere is sounding very domestic for me. I mean they are solid brutal death metal band but I could not compare them that much to Vader and Decapitated because of music they do is rather completely different in many ways. It`s more accurate to go with bands like No Salvation, Baphomet(US. RIP) which is closer to understand the sound of Sphere.
...I am trapped within your legs, Seduced by touch of soft skin...(Spider`s web)
The album is all death metal and should be a joy for maniacs of strong music. Growls are low tuned almost entirely. Slight experiments with clean vocals in few songs are very well done, too. Lot of really fast drum beats are synchronized with shreds of guitarists and make fundamentals of crushing death metal songs. Mindless Mass has different paces and variable tracks. Once they put more pressure on structures of the songs, more technical approach and the other time album slows down to nail you to the wall by massive, ground shaking riffs. On this album they initially are founding their death metal more aesthetic in song writing process and they still need to dig it for more rapture songs.
I do not know how many people supported this album instrumentally but I recognize Jacek Hiro (Sceptic, Roman Kostrzewski&Kat) who contributed with guitar solos so it`s always good reference.
...Every night I born again in your head, to kill you again...(Retalliation)
Even if Sphere`s death metal is not delivering anything new to the genre, I do not regret any minute I sacrificed to this album. They are true to the bone death metal band with no intention to reinvent the wheel. It`s basically straight sounding death metal album with no bullshits and second guesses and that`s pretty much all I need this time to memorize this album as a good one, for sure.
...Watch my blood flow, lick it from my skin...(Leash)
