Slaughterra
Lugenherz
Independent CD
Very cool intro starts off a new album of German Slaughterra and I just wonder if those heart beats blended with music could rip my chest apart if it goes more clinical, disturbing or claustrophobic with next songs. Let`s find out...
It`s been few years since this band have recorded any studio efforts and I did a little throwback on their katalog and have my memory refreshed on the band achievements.
I am sure Lugenherz has progressed the band further on in comparison of previous CD called Slaughterra. They developed their skills through the years, giving this band and the Lugenherz album much better written songs than ever before.
There are 13 compositions and they decided to write like 50/50 different written lyrics and this way sang it. Does not matter for me much but certainly German here is harsher if you like but smooth English better interact with my consciousness, simply knowing it. I do not like that much albums written in many languages to void lack of interest but it does not bother me on this CD and I certainly can live with it without second guesses.
Vocal parts have changed a power and weight of intensity since self titled EP was out years ago. Julian pushing his voice harder and brutal as never before. When music seeks more furiousness he finds it. Technically, singer deals his parts more convincingly.
That`d be too easy to sentence this album only as thrash which is dominating factor of Lugenherz. There are plenty of hard and metal core influences and it causes reaction on some songs bringing unstoppable intensity upon heaviness of riffs. Also some tracks go eventually fast and aggressive with well emancipated brutality in it. This time around, Slaughterra have put some pressure on more melodic compositions as well but keeping rage and anger on satisfactory level.
My best songs are Intro, Konstrukt:mensh-which continues really amazing motive from intro. Also Ikarus, The Mirror excite me to play the album on and on but with volumes up and that make me discover foundations of Lugenherz even better now. Downfall is quintessence of everything I have written about the way the songs take a course on this CD. Outro is bizarre, it is like regular track actually with just misguided title and I was like: WTF?
13 songs in total and some keep attention as those I mentioned. Some are average and just lack something unique I could find for myself.
Production and final sound of the album capture every element that makes album good and people want to speak about.
No heartbreaking full length, no clinical but certainly best Slaughterra` songs up to date. Thrash on!
