Sinsid
Enter The Gates
Pitch Black Records
When I was listening those tapping guitar riffs in Rise Of Fury which sound like something of Gojira ..or there is a familiar vibe from Ride The Lightning of Metallica played by rhythm guitarist in track Enter The Gates...For a moment there, I was not sure what music direction this band will take, because I did not know any of their tunes before... However, Sinsid from Norway has begun revealing their cards quickly....
Let`s hear this melodic chorus “-...Side by side in glory... “ , and dynamite guitar riffs in Enter The Gates, these show entirely a heavy metal spirit in the veins of this band.
Heavier, marching-some guitar rhythm in Fighting With Fire slowly spreads that heavy metal fire that fans of the genre like. I would not be surprised if some of you, after listening the album, point music of Manowar as Sinsid`s musical influence, especially that Hail To The Gods takes you there too – song is a story about infernal fate of gods, warriors and their steel, crossing their paths to the victory by blood. Melodic lead in the song and slower pace, make me feel excited about music of the band, already.
Point Of No Return, as most songs of the album, bases its heaviness on catchy guitar chords and melodic, or anthemic choruses, choirs too. One of the highlights in the song is a guitar solo.
When heavy metal guitar distortion goes simultaneously with acoustic guitar, when number of the beast appears in a crimson sky, you will know that I am now writing about 666, which sound like a hell of a song by the band when they sing his number.
Vocal shouts, sharper and a bit faster guitar play in Dawn Of Night, is another melodic song of the album. It`s not the first time I like guitar solo in their music, and I do not know whether Sten Roger Knutsen (guitar) or Even Havold (guitar) plays it, but either way, no doubt that these guys are very good at doing this! Good news for Polish metal maniacs, in Sinsid, plays Grzegorz Urbanski on bass who was previously known from the band Dished.
Roll The Dice is my least favourite song on Enter The Gates, but what`s better there ,in the music, it is very solid drumming from Robin Wick, vocals of Terje Singh Sidhu generally sound good in terms of singing in heavy metal, and guitar solos here (yes, I know...), I just realized that they play them in manner of Paradise Lost, the band, which is still great for me!
Now listen to sounds of war at sea, also melodic, galloping and thundering guitar riffs, you won`t resist those super catchy choirs and dynamic vocals as well... It`s the song called Freedom Of The Sea, which is one of the best track of the album (the other ones are Enter The Gates and Fighting With Fire...). The band takes you by the storm, so dynamic, so good track of theirs, unfortunately, this old school heavy metal album ends just here...
