Shartten
Sound Of Fate
WormHoleDeath
It`s a debut album of local (Krakow/Wieliczka/Poland) metal band Shartten. Actually, it`s hard to label their music specifically which I will try this time, but I think the most important thing is to find out if music and songs are good enough to get interest from the listeners, who is also me. I have been in a very good mood after spinning first three tracks of the album, already. A song Rush In Flames has some galloping tempo and heavy/thrash guitar work. The band play as melodic as they can but without losing that aggressive charisma that they also have in songs. The Ride introduces fast, melodic rhythm section from the band, and their vocalist sings with melodic vocals, however, his voice sounds thrashier on the album as well. Inner Abyss has some power metal elements in music that that just feels stronger that pure heavy metal, and they just balance those 2-3 music styles in this and other songs too. So, generally it`s not an album that follow one music genre, but it`s more a combo of heavy/thrash/power metal where a word “melodic” is important description of their songs.
Guitarists also play melodic solos and catchy leads all over the album. All band members sound technically prepared to write the music so they are able to bring some excitement. Sometimes songs are more atmospheric ( Alive Again) or heavier (Slave), or kind of sound anthemic (Pure Insane), or where it`s just a mix of rock and metal (Remain The Scream), but mostly songs just sound thrashier...Energetic and melodic style of the band go with memorable guitar harmonies, drumming is also efficient for their music dynamics, same as vocals. All these elements drive their melodic metal style so I often felt like their music was invading my mind which has/had been a nice feeling.
I can`t wait to hear more from this band, in a mean time, I encourage you to check out Sound Of Fate by Shartten,
