Shallow Ground
Embrace The Fury
Killer Metal Records CD
Things always turn out nicely when American thrash shreds the air and strikes like fury of pissed off Grizzly in wilderness with another great album. My veins need it constantly with accompany like Embrace The Fury album that proves overseas metal has it high level standards and sound prints that cannot be easily overtaken by others but Europe likely.
Second album of Shallow Ground consist 9 songs of Bay Area thrash which is my favourite lifetime genre. You might not be surprised to find this album next to Exodus, Megadeth, Anthrax in your local store as these are bands having common musical genes, and difference is, they all have own identity and do not need smuggling their riffs to proves integrity. I want to say here that it is so nice to hear something what sounds familiar to my top thrash albums and as long as songs on ETF forges its greatness and decency, I never am against it without reason.
I can`t hear any new aspects this CD could have but who the fuck cares about it nowadays, right...I do not. If the songs are good, music is better, period. This album has elements the killer album should provide. I go with melodies those songs have and some make their big turn into speed and raging aggressiveness. Those guys are leading by their fantastic musicianship. Solo guitarist has its five minutes showing very special approach and how uniquely he is playing his parts. Either it is Keith Letourneau-gui/voc or Tim Smith-gui, they both have done excellent job here.
The band is thrashing you with their words here as vocalist beats the shit out of his lyrics which are in your face/attacking sort of attitude and this is what thrash metal does, also.
I do not have favourites here as it is another album where you just listen to song after song and never get bored of it as it is as good as entire thing. I think it`s luxury having this particular collection of thrash songs here to review with great art cover created by Noel Puente.
