Post Mortem
God With Horns
Great Dane Records
French Post Mortem is a band that like none other produces most concrete death metal to date. They come back with a new record after 15 years since their last record Mankind Autopsy from 2001.
I admire album like this one for delivering killer riffs, uncompromising approach and diverse vocals. The band managed to justify their music efforts by most distinctive sound that hit with my senses. Very in your face sound and straightforward death metal songs tells the story about the band that does not give a shit about everything they do. A God With Horns consists 8+ songs and each one balancing brutality and anger but with presence of minor melodies that I like even if it fulfills the whole record just a little. Growls are pretty well arranged and every time they experiment with other vocals for a bit, it`s still very convincing and does not sounds pathetic at all. Drums sounds like a machinery of gun fire and it`s another aspect to fully enjoy the way it`s been done here.
This album is a classic European death metal which strongest argument is quality and I find their methodical and crushing metal quite in my cup of tea.
Thanks to this album, Post Mortem joins to exclusive list of my favourite death metal bands of recent months for bringing back all incredible gems in a genre.
