Pikodeath
Insane

Maximed Records
Pikodeath is Czech/German brutal metal band and Insane is their second album that continues their cooperation with Defense Records since 2014 which is when the band has released their first album Tief In Dir for them.
Insane is death metal album with many crushing guitar riffs, mixed with fast and brutal attitude of songs. Brutality of music is also often indicated by many drum blast beats and guttural vocals. The songs relates a bit to old school death metal (Vader) but also to grind scene and bands like Brutal Truth, Terrorizer which are the ones that likely have both death and grind core elements in their music. Insane is also the album with modern approach, mainly in hardened work of guitars&drumming - there are few technical moments that just do not sound that much old school. So you can heat up your hi-fi with the album that has some old and new sound and music factors, but you may like Pikodeath if your expectations are rather low in terms of innovation.
The production of the album is strong, but the music is predictable, without catchiness (I know that brutal albums can be catchy). There is nothing very new in this album from the perspective of brutal death or death/grind - so many bands have been here before with similar music that you can find by listening to Insane. It's not too good album, but it's not that bad either.
