Perfecitizen
Humanipulation
L'Inphantile Collective
Perfecitizen is another band (beside Insistent and Gride) in this Czech label who tries to find their own ways in grind core...
There are some musical anomalies in Humanipulation, which in theory should be hardly found on record like this one, as it is a very extreme grind core release. I initially felt that there will be nothing more to it, but there is, a whole lot of other music influences in songs of Perfecitizen. By the term-musical anomalies I mean nothing negative, it's just that the band uses clean and very melodic vocals which sounds pop (Blind Ignorance, Mental Obesity) or those that have been passed through electronic effects (Motivation), which all sound very unusual for a grind core and it`s the least what you`d expect to hear on grind core record. These melodic vocals sound mind blowing, because musically this band plays very intense and aggressive music, mixed with noise and very violent riffs which all sound kind of weird, but I like it! Primarily, in the album, you can hear a spectrum of brutal and experimental vocals which also give the record some personality and a huge power kick. Their tactic for music on this album is pretty simple but also what you may hear here, can sound kind of unexpected, music-wise... - ...The band announce leading riffs, they play it for a short while (eventually I get hooked to it), but the change is quick, another twisted riffs come up (eventually I got unhooked from it- maybe it all just happens too fast), and then, a short burst of killer blast beats do the rest of the destruction to your already bleeding ears. Sometimes drummer takes turn on what sounds like blast beats - played two times faster (really hyper fuckin` fast) which is maybe what the band calls a blast core, as a description of their own music. Their songs sound very enraging and energetic, experimental death metal meets chunky death core riffs as well. Turns in songs happen rather fast, speed, technicality and aggression is what count here, which all sound brutal, only sometimes melodic from guitarists perspective. It`s not easy to settle down to music of the band, at least not at once, but it`s because there is a lot going on in their songs, on technical level from the band.
It`s modern sounding album that sounds partly innovative (melodic vocals), but if you forget about that for a while, it`s still will be quite good grind core record, taking a genre, and maybe the band itself, a step forward by music twists, and by surprise, like a torpedo.
