Nocturne
The Burning Silence

Album The Burning Silence by Austrian Nocturne was recorded and mixed at Soundtempel Studio in Germany, mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound studio in Sweden. It`s not the newest release from the band, but album consists of so many great songs that it has to be mentioned here.
First of all, it`s very melodic black metal record that set my mind on fire at once because guitar work in Nocturne is like constantly burning flame, touching and penetrating my inner senses with songs that to my mind sound nearly perfect. Guitar tone is quite harsh and so are most of raspy black metal vocals - Thrones Of Edom, Sparks Of Sin , nothing out of ordinary, but the “bar”, has been put by the band pretty high when comes to song writing. It`s almost like their songs reach artistic music meaning where I realized that what I hear has deeper values for me, it`s more like a spiritual experience through magic that band delivers instrumentally and by lyrical content. Sound of the band is put in frame of “second wave” of black metal which remind bands like Enslaved, Dissection, so Nocturne do not reinvent a black metal wheel by any meaning, it`s just a thing that they play much more melodic in expressing drama, the epic style and aggression in their songs that they connect with blazing black metal guitar patterns. You can almost sense the warrior`s blade on your neck when hearing sharp guitar sound with moments of storming blast beats on drums. Nocturne`s music is transformation from a typical black metal sound that most of you know, to more artistic-music language where upon incredible guitar melodies and various black metal vocals music does its magic which is what I have caught in the air in tracks like Victory Of Fire or The Burning Silence. These are warmest songs of the album (and there are more to choose from) that shall cast out some new magic upon damned black metal souls without a doubt.
Many clean vocal choruses that the band wrote to enrich the sound of their songs works very well for the album impression - Hubris Virtue, Seven They Are... If you like vocal chants, these are elements that highlight the Nocturne`s music universe as well, and that also make me feel very confident about strength of this album that band possesses in their songs.
I do not think that they wrote even a single boring riff for this album. I am stoked to Nocturne`s music offerings from start to end, and I can listen to every song over and over because it`s one of those bands that can traps you in their dark realm from which you do not want to come back...
