Nihilism
Apocalyptic Fate
Great Dane Records
Nihilism is a death metal band from France. Opening track showcase that musicianship of the band is well-death metal calibrated. Slaves Of The Sacred Rites is a diverse song, where Nihilism often changes the structure of the music and seeking for different forms of expression. They play interesting guitar solos, and the singer brings a lot of energy to the music by singing from his throat and guts.
Next track is called A Wall. This is certainly one of my favorite songs of the album, because of the dynamics, speed and brutality of guitars sound. Listening to such songs gives a lot of satisfaction, because the band made the album production and all instruments sound very clear, heavy and sharp at the same time.
Guitar intensity and a few quieter guitar moments you can hear in Akahtheeb, but generally this track is pretty brutal.
The RIP is a darker song but including some melodies. Need to point out that album sounds modern but it works for old&new school death metal riffs they have in this and other songs.
Technical death metal is the name of the game in S/T track. Big plus for guitar shreds a`la Decapitated...
The Sin'S Costto is not the only track on this album where the cooperation between lead and rhythm guitarists complement each other perfectly. And I will write it again - the dynamics of the songs that Nihilism creates is excellent which is important factor that intensify the music so the band`s death metal strikes its targets with more deadly but sophisticated manners.
There can be heard some echoes of American death metal and Death on the album when comes to some music ideas (Faiteful Rite and Bunch Of Bones) from this French band. Impetuous Choice on the other hand has a similar riff to Cannibal Corpse from Butchered at Birth record but surely, this album in most of times has European death metal vibe and quality.
Other similar bands: Trauma, Formis
