Recorded piece-by-piece throughout the last eighteen months, the album "We Remain" is a hard hitting statement of perseverance and tenacity. Australian bush fires, political unrest, isolation and the global pandemic fueled a collection of furious personal songs that dig deep into their experiences of the last two years and pull no punches.
Featuring guest vocalist Tim “Ripper” Owens (ex-Judas Priest, Iced Earth) on the track ‘Under Order’, this is their most ambitious project to date.
The album was by mixed by Kevin “Caveman” Shirley (Dream Theater, Silverchair, Iron Maiden) during lockdown in his studio in Sydney, Australia. Recording sessions were engineered and produced by Lachlan Mitchell (Nazxul) at Parliament Studios, Sydney. Mastering was overseen by Alan Douches (Mastadon, Clutch) at West West Side, NY. Album artwork and animation is by Mike Morphett (Mortal Sin, Alcatrazz).

CARBON BLACK was founded in 2013 by four close friends in New South Wales, Australia with a mutual love for original heavy music and thunderous live performances.
Musically, CARBON BLACK blend a foundation of honest 90s influences with their roots in solid, groove-based metal and rock, combined with an eye to social and political commentary and a lot of heart.
CARBON BLACK are brothers Rob and Steve Giles (bass and drums), vocalist Jonathan Hurley and guitarist Damon Bishop.
In 2014 CARBON BLACK released their debut EP, Principium, Produced by Darren Jenkins (Daysend, Deprivation, Mortal Sin). It impressed the critics scoring 4/5 in both Heavy Mag and Metal as Fu*k.
In 2018 CARBON BLACK returned with their first full length album End of This, again gathering great exposure and positive reviews from the press, with 9/10 from Metal Gods TV.
CARBON BLACK have shared the stage as a support act with the likes of HELLYEAH, MARTY FRIEDMAN, CAVALERA brothers Max & Iggor, DAVID ELLEFSON, VOIVOD, and MANOWAR founder Ross the Boss, while appearing at numerous Australian metal festivals.
During lockdown the band put their collective energies into re-recording an early track “Mourn” for an isolation video, which went on to gather over fifty thousand views on Facebook.
