Morvigor
Tyrant
Independent
New album from old school Dutch metallers consist 8 songs, including intro and outro.
After ambient beginning of the album, next track brings some black-thrashy riffs and confident black metal vocals. No Repentance at some point turns into real hurricane of bleak midwinter melodies and well balanced aggression towards the end of the track.
The third one is a bit progressive on guitars and have a nice climax you can create when playing mid-paced song. Right after the tempo goes up and once again Morvigor delivers quality thrash riffs but with more harmonies and even guitar solo.
Interlude is not a metal song , it`s instrumental track with a lot of space in music.
Next is very specific song, has totally different arrangement than previous songs. First part of the track is post-black metal with very atmospheric and mind blowing guitars which reminds me Polish band Mgla. In second part, they basically changed approach and backbone of the song, for a few times. They gave the guitars a lot of groove and rhythms with presence of black metal sound which is melted with death metal. I like very metallic tone of the bass in this song and diversity of music. This is my personal, best track of the album which is very mesmerizing in most parts.
Next is experimental with samplers and strange voices which is sort of introduction for...
...Tyrant has that old metal, 90`s black-thrash guitar approach but vocals sound a bit Mayhem like. They play more black metal and dynamic as song plays but on the way, there is very cool, melodic Viking metal moment on vocals and also instrumentally. It`s something they haven’t done on previous songs and sound like completely different band but it`s very good and takes just few seconds to enjoy.
Closing track is fantastic. It`s only piano and sounds like Chopin-classical music, really outstanding.
