Since the masterpiece of so called black album every next full length of Metallica was shocking or full of doubts and there was always something missing to build-up another monster album that everybody would remember as all time classic. I do not think they have ever reached out this status since s/t album was out. I got a feeling that new album will be all that most people have expected for like 25 years or so from Metallica..
New song Hardwired is really back to old school, to sound of metal and for me it has thrashy vibe that was never with Metallica for many, many years anymore. They finally found again where they come from and where all the biggest classic Bay Area thrash albums are from. This song has a bit of Kill`em All feeling, black album era is there, too and I say once again. It finally sounds Metal. This song is so intense and catchy. No doubt it`s perfect single to start interest in new album. It`s gonna be double one and it`s hard to expect only fast songs like Hardwired. But I would not worry about that at all. Just hear production of this track. It`s a killer! Almost that good or better than on black album but much more extended, in your face and that`s fucking amazing. The fact they back to old logo says a lot of what`s to come.
Lyrics give me even more adrenaline when James sings about self-destruction and that they are fucked-up but it ain`t bother them. I do think it does...
Hardwired … To Self-Destruct album should be another huge achievement for Metallica, in just few months, on November 18th. Cant`t wait!
