Liquid Flesh
Chair Liquide
Metal Is The Law
Songs of this French band are balanced between rhythmic guitars, old school death metal shredding and few simple grind riffs (Vide-Ordures). There are less drum beats in their tracks than usually in extreme music, but there is incredibly diverse drumming in mid-tempos. Musically Liquid Flesh plays sickly, catchy and almost melodic death metal (few times they just hit around those guitar strings), but it`s still more brutal and disgusting death metal throughout. Songs of the band are also combination of Carcass albums like Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious, Symphonies Of Sickness and their last three releases, particularity “famous” singles/video clips off these albums released by this British band. The spirit of Carcass in music of Liquid Flesh is rather strongly present I must write, which has been best captured in Necroville - the song that starts off with catchy industrial-like drumming and ends like old school death metal. In song Chair Liquide rhythm guitars sound even like Napalm Death in first minutes of the track, but only if you think about that. Music of Liquid Flesh is filthy, tight, brutal and loose at the same time, or there are plenty of guitar ideas fulfilled with solid death metal riffs and groove (Toxic Blues). I must admit that song writing in this album is quite compelling that it's hard to break away from listening to their songs. I realize that the album is not as precisely written as last few Carcass releases, but I like musical spontaneity in his album, and spirit of 90`s death metal with those amazing rhythmic guitars. Liquid Flesh sounds pretty rough and kind of toxic in a creative sense (Angoisse), and they have this potential to make me feel filthy sometimes. It`s easier when you focus on rotting/gory vocals of their singer who did excellent job for this album, even if his repulsive and awfully good growls reminds those from Carcass too. There is also some tense instrumental track entitled Twin Freaks, which could be a soundtrack to some zombie movie. There are a few short keyboards tracks laid in songs that gave music a feel of 80`s slow burn horror movies also. Last two songs are heavy, melodic, fast and brutal, more toward old school death metal in style of Incantation, Necrophagia. Do not mind all those comparisons to other bands, Liquid Flesh sounds and play top notch death metal songs.
I like Chair Liquide as much that I am not going to stop at this review, you will hear about the band again, very soon...
