Transmutation
Independent
Kinestence is a Polish industrial death metal band based in Cracow.
I do not know if term “futuristic” is still up to date nowadays - 10, 15 years ago I`d say that this EP sounds fresh, today, I think it`s what has been around for some time already. Keyboards and all music played on synthesizers sound kind of bizarre, cold and artificially-neurotic in this band but certainly it`s okey with me to hear it because it`s just how this band sounds in the core. In song Digital Hypnosis, it is more or less what Fear Factory normally injects to their music so their songs can sound weird but Kinestence, Fear Factory or even Meshuggah are bands that try to stimulate dormant parts of your brain and bring them back to its creative activity so you never actually know what dimension music from the band like Kinestence can open in your head or what change it can make for the music in general. Kinestence are doing it similarly with synthesizers as FF on this EP which is sort of like hearing labour sounds of cloning technology, but vocals and guitar work particularly, it all sound like a fairly complex death metal. By staying with the track Digital Hypnosis for a bit longer, it has to be written that opening riffs of the song is obviously what fans of Death will recognise immediately! Still, it`s okey with me to hear familiar riffs in song of the band like Kinestence as they try to bring their own angle and music perception to the whole spectrum of technical/progressive death metal as it evolves.
Black Cube Snake God is musically close to band like Pestilence (Spheres album and later era of this band) so the song structures and execution of music ideas by Kinestence is something you won`t regret when hearing it.
Transmutation is a heavy death metal song but with some thrashier and faster guitar approach as well. A few intense moments, cosmo-mutating sound of keyboards and music groove, I`d say, it`s another song from the band that can make them to be a dangerously good band if they will continue to write music on this and better level.
