Khaldera
Alteration
Czar Of Crickets/Czar Of Revelations CD EP
A Swiss label that have released very interesting band Ashtar just while ago comes up with new and unpredictable trio under the name of Khaldera. Also based in Switzerland the band should guarantee a music magnificence, so do not waste any more time to find out...
...The opening song Impending Tempest slowly reveals the sound of the band, starting with a smooth introduction motive, for like a first minute. What comes after, shows significant sound of the band already which is proven within a song and bringing heaviness for this improvisation kinda track . They finish off the song quietly like they started but process of temptation to my immune system has already begun...
Number two is called The Inevitability Of Transition and has a feeling of regular song when you know the band gives it all they have to create their world within the world because that seems to be only thing to do if you are instrumental band without a front-man. So, if there is no person that sings and might to impose certain way of thinking about the album all what`s left is imagination. I won`t lie. I like it and Khaldera throws the world to its knees in this leading song but not the universe yet...
And closing Afterglow benefits my time to hear how professional they produce this EP and how remarkable atmosphere they created based on it. If you wonder what`s music direction they take overall then why not to say, post-metal, sludge. This is what their music is basically like but this final song I mentioned is like none of those...maybe... ambient, space rock if you will...
It`s very good but feels way too short in just 18 minutes. They left off when I actually was getting ready for some epic battle of smart instrumentalists with great ideas for music... See on your own how they can make up your mind.
