Huldre
Tusmorke
Independent
After well received debut Intet Menneskebarn from 2012 the band was working hard to bring even better effect to their new album which I have privilege to review now.
Tusmorke is a very good produced album and push the envelope in sound for the band to even more satisfactionary level. They crafted a sound that symbioses heavy guitar sound with other instruments. Guitars, bass and drumming are the factors that drive this album sounds metal on the first place. However, this is not straight metal album for sure. With wonderful, clean female vocals, come melodic arrangements of flute, violin and hurdy gurdy on the ground of folk music. These instruments are the catchy side of their music. Bringing all those elements together, Tusmorke gives me amazing music journey, hugely influenced by Nordic folklore. The band is strongly connected to forces of nature and it`s one of inspirations for the lyrics they wrote on the CD. The imagery of the album and the whole art work is a tribute to everything we can find far away from civilization, united only with nature and its wilderness. Those pictures in a booklet show us who we really are and I love purity of it.
Huldre is a Danish folk metal band that with a little melancholy in music makes my day worth a while.
