People who maniacally search underground scene to fill their music needs with new albums should eagerly check this band out. Who knows, beside other good band from that region –Eclipse, it`s Hellcraft that has a chance to join my favorite Ukrainian extreme metal commando crew.
Apotheosis Of War is death metal album and their perseverance to bring quality death metal to their music is something you can find in this album. It`s brutal and sometimes dark death metal, surely something for fans of Vader, Hate or Sinister. They have well performed growls that are very self controlled vocals and they take time to adapt this element to the music until it properly fits in songs. Same happens with music. It`s periodically fast metal with dark and twisted riffs but easy to follow. Solid drum beats bring all the viciousness to the music. They also have slower and heavier tracks that sound like engaging machines of war that destroy everything over the enemy lines. So, it`s well balanced album with diversified pace settings and hell-well structured death metal songs.
The production is pretty good, design of the CD and art work is a clue of what Hellcraft is basically. And yet, there are a lot of things that they can do much better for this band which I can sense from the way they play. I believe, their best album is still to come but I already like this one, so to speak.
