Hatrix
Deny The Death
Independent CD EP
New generation of thrash adepts continue to hit with records that are on position to wipe out their way to being more recognized as a band and earn some fans appreciation by playing venues anywhere possible. I have attended one of their gig recently and they just destroy it and I have witnessed one of the most aggressive and insane circle pit this year. I have left them with my attention to what they do.
That is so different that reviewing studio records is beyond experience of live show as digital records are naturally more attached to details so here is what Hatrix brings with it.
Those 6 songs tend to thrash you first if you mind genres but there are some timid efforts influences by heavy metal. I would see the band as thrash commando first and aiming this path is righteous. Their vocalist Pawel Cieslinski has a manner of singing like Coroner`s Ron Royce and this is fucking awesome if you ask me. There are some glorious moments unconditionally referred to German scene in music aspect but also American one is always good to perfect musicianship and Hatrix is making their way to it. They are still a bit scary instrumentally and some songs sound awkward but I feel under the skin that those guys are capable to kill it in short period of time. This Ep has equally many up and downs so it is not that good as I would expect.
Production of the record lacks of dynamics and is not what thrash records should be like. You know, if you have no proper sounding CD even good songs cannot be enough to show a band from best side. I believe that crafting energetic sound and studio execution is always a challenge and somehow should drive a band to write killer songs. It has to be like unstoppable volcano when it angers its loads and blows up furiously. I would like to hear that from the band very soon.
The CD release is amazing and have great dark artworks , lyrics, photo and all that stuff that make people happy.
