Gutter Sirens
Phantom Pains
Independent CD
I noticed there is a various number of heavy metal bands across the Poland and the scene must not be recognized by death/black metal only and globally. I`d like ensure you that there are so many other bands in other genres that you should look after and they doing marvellous work to make quality heavy metal.
One of those bands I`d like to write about is Polish Gutter Sirens. I remember having their debut The Trees back in 90`s and they already have been so different on the scene with their music offerings. The band have started with their audio releases in 93 and as for now, their archives mention 4 full length albums, including this one I am up to review right now.
Gutter Sirens is gifted to compose decent heavy metal songs and I have been blew away by Angel`s Touch and its heartbreaking motives. This song should gather some attention to the band if properly promoted. Next track Fourth Chamber is a succession of hard rock influences the band incorporate into music so amazing and flute is just essential here . It`s been another song that maintain the level of the band to its desired success which this album is in my opinion.
Gutter Sirens is focusing their strength to make spacy songs, melodic vocals and moody compositions. Keyboard and guitar parts just luring you to the bright light of the album. Other songs still having that heavy metal attitude and are ballad`ish and they keep it simply-wise and slightly diverse throughout the album. This is not a band that overthinking their ideas and they are just talented as they could to work out best balance in their heavenly music realm. There is just one or two moments they touch a prog metal boundary but it is not band`s dominion which could be exiting if they have pushed it further more.
I see Gutter Silence along with Savatage(do not even know if they are still out there), Primal Fear, Saxon as a strong package. Some music relativities to those bands are genially here but obviously not the same.
A 12 songs on this album put you in trouble to pick its best tracks and I want to enjoy more strong albums like this one in its entirely.
