Grotesque Ceremonium
Demonic Inquisition
More Hate Prods/Satanath Recs
Original founder of Grotesque Ceremonium is Batu Cetin. He is the only person that has an effect for a final outcome of every production he does in his home studio which is where this album has been recorded. I am not going to give it any advantage just because it is one-man band. Simply because a good music is a first motive that drives me to experience music territories, carelessly where or whom it comes from and how many people are involved in.
Artwork and song titles says well know stories of Dark Ages and follows evil and weak acts caused by stupid religious people back then and nowadays. Batu Cetin made this album sounds raw and abyssic. I guess it supposed to catch the vibe of old school sounding death metal albums and it does a bit actually but musically it is just so badly primitive and rusty. It does not show much spirit in the songs and musicianship is just on acceptable level which mostly results in boring and amateur songs. Cover of Incantation does not make any difference to me. I do not dislike this album. It`s decent. I just like when there is a certain amount of discipline and pressure put on performance of old school death metal which bands like Immolation, Lost Soul, Sinister do really best. G.C is rather like none of those but you might like it eventually if you like a dead death metal whore fucked by the whole town and baby bastard is obsolete and demonic.
