There is no better joy if you put the new band, you never heard about, in your CD player and you suddenly realized that those guys are actually pretty metal goofies.
This album is their second attack after Corporal Punishment for Italian label. I have no comparison what`s so ever as I do not know that record so I just stick to what I`ve got.
Identity is technical death metal album and I just ignore some unnecessary core influences here and there as this album is 90% death metal and this is where my sympathy goes to.
Album is produced a bit artificially. I`d like it more organic, intense feeling but I tell you what; it is OK.
There are quite good vocalists out there in Poland and worldwide and whatever way they modelling their voice I can understand their singing not looking on lyric sheet. Marshall-vocalist for Garrotter has abilities to make it so but it is still not quite there. Yes, I am talking to ya...
All righty, the principals of this album for me are awesome guitar parts of Yuri and Maki, a bassist. Both are switching from better riffs to brilliant ones and all the time searching for new dimensions until the end of the album. Identity keeps me on as they really have good structured songs. Music is close to Decapitated in points and I could not find any better band for myself to liken from. No bullshitting at all. I enjoy this album in most parts and even that closing track with stupid alien as narrator, relaxing me for good. Very funny song and makes me smile timelessly.
