Funeral Cult
Possession Done
Lusitanian Music
Funeral Cult (POL) is back. I was incredibly impressed with their album Korowody Cieni that they released in 1996... Just imagine music in the vein of Pandemonium, Celtic Frost, Samael...
Okey, here comes Possessed Done, their newest EP.
Opening song Necroscope is a dark doom metal, very claustrophobic and with spooky keyboards passages. Revengeful vocals, fearful atmosphere - glorious!
Heavy guitar sound is amazingly changing shapes in Frost. It`s still dark, it`s a bit symphonic and terrific. This band is giving me goosebumps as I remember them from 90`s. They did not waste time in studio when recording those new songs, music and production of the EP are done so much better.
Track I am You Are Me, The Fury opens that another door to majestic, cosmic dimension of their music that band triumphaly devours from that infinite source. It`s a very strong closing track with vocal refrains, music is more straight, simplified and strikes with splendor.
In an old review that I wrote about the band there was; ...”they are making their dark metal sounds even darker...” and you know what, they got it, they still doing it to their music!
I believe in that Possession Done is the beginning of a great march, a return of Funeral Cult to the scene!
