Fleshdoll
Hearts Of Darkness
Great Dane Records
Fleshdoll strikes with their fifth album and this is dark ride through high quality death metal as its best. For those of you who may not known much about them, the band origins are French and Hearts Of Darkness sounds really mature as the band with long number of albums suppose so.
11 songs, including cover of Testament are statement of highly developed band with top notch song approach. Instrumentally, those guys are great. They do whatever they imagine with the music. In this case, it`s a twist of dark sounding death metal (Vader, Vital Remains) and powerful, hellish song writing. They can literally tear you apart once you are able to hear harmonies and sacred madness that drive their music. Vocals are effectively brutal and sick to get even more merciless effect on the music and on overall band`s impression. Guitar shreds, solos and bass (nicely exposed, quite a few times) just tells the story of their advanced musicianship and how stunning are their music abilities for death metal and for the band, too. They really sound like a precise war machine to me with all those drum blasts. They mix technical and brutal death metal with deeper, atmospheric elements which compose the music just fine.
This is a breath-taking and killer death metal album!
