This is a band I am with since the beginning and accurately from their first release Welcome To Our Souls (1997) and Imitations Of Life (1999), The Die Is Cast (2005), Hunting Season Opened (2009) - album which I never heard but has some good reviews around. The band comes from Slovakia and Death Blow is still their newest album from this year.
It`s been 10 years since I catch up with The Die Is Cast and current album shows the band much angrier and distinctively more brutal than ever before. I do not know if thrash has changed that much but certainly Face Agony has that little I do not care East European attitude which could be: I decapitate you, extract your brain and piss in your skull with no remorse. That`s not a quote but basically brutal reality side of the lyrics on this record and it`s just part of the whole album, of course.
I am glad the band keeps thrash formula as dominating factor even if there is a little H/C in vocals manner that not always match my expectations but there is no limit exceeded and it still could be acceptable. The album is not ruined by some unnecessary genres exploration-detection and I prefer if the band stays thrash first and no risk later. I already have written that many times that I am a sucker for intense punching songs and Face Of Agony sickening you in every ones in this record and that`s why the album has no favourites as for my knowledge and you should enjoy it entirely.
I give it a credit for being vulgar and fucking harsh as hell and no compromising-otherwise you could call that mental depends where you from. This album never supposed to be nice or anything like that but for what it is I rate it for 7 out of 10.
