Eyelessight is Italian black metal band, consisting of four members and a guest vocalist. Lyrics for the album are written in Italian so, it`s hard to get into the lyrical content not knowing this language... It`s surely the album that is boiling emotionally so much that it is almost impossible to catch any positive experience through it. It`s atmospheric black metal album that is shadowing a lot of negativity, mental issues and phobias. Various vocal performances which are tormented black metal screams shall haunt you for just the way it sounds. It`s very essential for this album how widely it operates and play on emotions. The band`s female vocalist has a clean, yet dark sounding vocals which give the album some feeling of rock-pop element, and not once, there is despair in her vocals that feels very real, which is interesting of how it contrasts with black metal base of the songs.
Of course, the album goes with plenty of undistorted guitars, however in few tracks, like for example in Nostomania, there are guitar distortions where I can hardly recognize any rhythm from it, instead the guitar buzz that you can hear in the background is like listening a very early, abyssic black metal records ...Athazagorafobia has overall pretty decent songs and clear sound production with post black metal elements. I need to mention that some drum techniques are highlight of songs, it does not always sound as typical drumming for black metal band. Other feature, like nostalgic music ideas from lead guitarist, it is also what gives the album its own character, as if music was alike life - you walk through it, but all you can see are ruins of others and your own experiences...
It`s mid-paced album, depressing and haunting, but super atmospheric, in which all the vocals stand out for its emotional depth.
