Eteritus
Order Of Death
Deformeathing Production
It`s Eteritus second album but I actually hear this Toruń based, Polish band for the first time and I wish more albums like this one could come my way so I would write to you about their existence.
Order Of Death is old school death metal record that reinvent the past and some ideas from glorious times of this genre. The band takes mainly influences from old times, but Eteritus makes it worth a while by music. The opening track for example has subtle but heavy riffs that are so great to hear because the song is very well toned, not rushed, atmospheric and enjoyment from it comes out easily. I kind of get addicted to those riffs in this track `cause they are repeating them few times in the song and the idea of it always works for me. Check it @ 0.50 mins and later on; it`s such a normal death metal song that is just so impressive and mind blowing. Other thing is that they take their time and build- up their simple, death metal music strategies on patience ( do not push it, let the music grow and form its natural shape), which results in very good written death metal songs. Around amazing, crushing riffs, they sometimes inject some guitar groove as it happens in tracks: Endless Grace and We the Primal. So bad that they just do it for a while because the groove could be the identity of Eteritus, their original side that needs further exploration to not confuse them with other bands!
Order Of Death now, is the combination of several death metal styles that British (Bolt Thrower, Cancer) and Scandinavian (Grave, Nihilist) scenes once have created. Eteritus tries their strengths on melodic territory few times, which is very Swedish sounding song called Inhale, Don't Breathe Out where those melodies are beautifully creepy. They are not as catchy as Entombed but what they have more is their own brutality that serves them, and any signs of chaos are under their complete enslavement. You can call it a band`s maturity if you will but this music is just so easy to listen to. Their Songs are well measured between middle and fast tempos which often sound very death-doom, around what Asphyx, Obituary do. They proof themselves in faster songs (7,8) as well and what else I can tell you...? The whole music vibe of this album is definitely something to remember for now and for future album spines.
All vocals on the album are really solid piece of work which should please fans of monstrous, deep sounding growls. I like little experiments with vocals in When On High track where vocal lines sound original– sort of ancient vibe to it - you will know it once you get to this point. It`s the song that is taken, dominated by the singer of the band, this is where my focus goes first in this song, which is unforced, if you know what I mean. Bass player and drummer do everything to make this record sounds even better!
I highly recommend this album and Eteritus band for you. Their devotion and natural approach to old school death metal is very much in their blood but I think their best albums are still yet to come, starting off from Order Of Death.
