Eryx
Killing For Escape

Eryx plays melodic thrash metal with aggression (Blood Runs Slowly), energy and speed (Lost). Quite often, the band also takes direction toward power metal (Final Preyer) with catchy vocals and guitar endevours (Killing For Escape) that sound just flawlessly. Dynamics in the whole album are amazingly executed by all band members. A maturity of music is almost comparable to bands like Annihilator, Nevermore, and it`s really what they make me think about their music. The album is primarily fast with just few mid-paced fragments in songs which are enhanced with groove (Kings Of Nothing Life, Dead Men Attack), kicking ass vocal lines (Anton, a singer for the band is just really good when he sings melodically). The whole material is played with technical precision (including guitar solos) while harmonies are well blended in. Symbiosis between melodies and raging thrash metal arrangements grow in splendor with every minute I give this album. Except track За Горизонт, all other songs are performed in English.
Eryx boomed like a thunder from the sky for me with this album because their music strikes with thrash metal greatness instantly. I can`t recommend Killing For Escape enough, so do not hesitate to check this album out. Eryx is hailing from Russia and you better remember this band`s name!
