Epitome
Autoe`ROT`icism
Engulf The Decrepitude
Deformeathing Productions
Another retrospective release from Deformeathing recs which is great when it comes to re-releasing some of most significant Polish bands so far.
I know Epitome from their early days and since the beginnings of the band actually. I still own both original cassettes, try to keep up with their albums and the moment when they convinced me to the music was a demo Autoe`rot`icism from 1998. I remember playing the tape over again and seriously never had enough of it. This is top notch grind gore with critical boiling point of extremity. Let`s say, you do need to go fast with guitars and drums all the time to reach very high level of ferocity which they taste on this demo. All the songs are turbulent, disturbing and filled with some industrial, medical related samplers which are very weird but for me it`s like; Bingo! I only can express my gratitude for perfect timing and best ideas for the album they were able to capture and record back in the days. Intensity of tracks and diversity to approach brutality is just out of respect to anything you may have heard in brutal music yet. Vocal and sound distortions tending to sound repulsive and clinical which sick the music even more. They experiment with production of the demo a lot and this cassette(now also on CD) was quite ahead of its time musically speaking. For some of you still could. Very splendid release and one of the most unrated.
Epitome`s band image is a exceptionally gory, particularly on their concerts with the blood you can see on their white scrubs and who knows, maybe they let you spill some on them....
In my opinion, Epitome wears the crown of European grind among few other bands and they show everybody the way its fucking best.
In 1994 demo Engulf The Decrepitude was out and spread their name for the first time on the extreme scene. Minor symptoms of Epitome`s style was there already but with more brutal death metal influences. Restoration of this tape for CD is just fine. The sound on it suffers a bit quality but it`s one of those bands I can` resist whatever they do.
