I do not know how`s band doing after Dani`s Cradle of Filth and co-musicians put out their debut album as I do not follow at all. However I am not going to ignore this CD for two negligible reasons. First of all the band delivers something spectacular. Second, Dani is my county neighbour and why the hell not.
Devilment is slightly new name on the scene and Nuclear Blast has shown immediate interest to the band. I guess even if material was not in a studio recording they wanted this up in the air ideas in advance.
My first hearing of the band was when Mother Kali single was online to push the band and forthcoming album to the people. I knew that is it!
I am writing these words as full collection of songs plays on for the first time. It is not easy at all to describe the album with characteristics like theatrical, sublime, pop, rock-opera, soundtrack, gothic, fairy tale, cartoons. All these influences are genuine mixed in a body of metal sound. Singers vocals are natural and vipers’ music to proper atmosphere. For me, seems like working on all those arrangements was taste of self-writing process.
Last year, I did not hear as many albums as I wanted but great and secret show pays back expectations in category one of the best albums of passed year.
