Sinister Forces of Hatred
Ossuary Records
Opening riffs of the album are very similar to one of Dark Angel`s song, so you do not have it wrong, Sinister Forces Of Hatred is thrash metal record that in my opinion really kick ass all the way from start to end. Vocalist shrieks remind me of Mille Petroza (Kreator) from their earlier albums, and Jari Hurskainen, besides being very harsh screamer, is superbly energetic and aggressive, he is pushing himself to the limits of vocal intensity with dose of melodies. The album also features choirs. So, vocally, the guy rips the air to pieces!
Songs are usually fast, technical, brutal and ferocious, with no much moments where you can take a breath. The album has hooks, catchy leads, on fire guitar shreds and interesting guitar solos where musicians took their time to embrace them and make solos sound REALLY great on the whole album. Drumming is tight and played with verve. This album sound is good. You can tell instantly that those Finnish guys; Timo Ahlström – Guitar, Jörgen Reinholm – Guitar, Jukkis Lappalainen – Bass, Seppo Tarvainen – Drums, they knew what they wanted to achieve - sonic and music wise, their songs just break the thickest wall. Album also exterminates with rage and hatred but they have periods where guitar chords earn its heaviness, just enough, to crush your skull.
Best fast track: Murderlust, Nail Them All. Best for song writing: Proclamation. Best for melodic input: Acid Remains. Best for rage and furiosity: Embryonic Evil. Best for guitar groove and leads: Into The Mouth Of Madness. Best for chorus: Crossing The Rubicon. Best for guitar solos: everywhere heard!
