Clôture
Czar Of Revelations
Cold Smoke Records
Long time ago I used to think that if the band has an instrumental song in a tracklist or they have no singer at all and just play bunch of songs to sort of gamble on your notion... I though, these guys must be virtuosos if they play instrumental music that follows up the mastery of guitar solos and everything you would normally not expect from a band with a vocalists. However, it`s not what this Swiss band does. Times has changed and bands like Darius has different angle on music and what to do, to make it actually work as an instrumental band. Cloture has barely anything to do with progressive or technical music if it passed your mind but they have their own vision on how to deal with their own music...
The record has a bit dusty&dirty but organic sound. It has some vibe of live album but remember, it`s studio record. Also, Cloture has very authentic, modern but vintage sound of some 70`s albums (at some small point it always starts off with Black Sabbath. They just do not play like them). Their music is chilled by post rock and metal. The songs have certain rhythms and incredible groove, also some violent, modern “psychodelia” making instrumentals. Moments that crushed on my mind, I find in songs Glaucal (middle and end of the song is just storming) and Trace when they melting rock with a bit of stoner which is pretty cool. Guitar-wise I like everything what they did in Pipistolet track which is almost 2 minutes long song.
I do not say it`s great EP but it`s very good one without a doubt. I trust my intuition and I will keep an eye on this promising band.

Yannick Neveu - Guitar
