Carnal Agony
Preludes & Nocturnes
Sliptrick Recods CD
Sometimes you just cannot be mistaken with a band seeing their art cover of the album. Most of you think heavy and power metal and you won`t be wrong this time around. This 11 tracks CD is a first full length album of the band from Sweden.
When I think Scandinavia I set mind to Vikings nation and that`s driving power that makes my world unreal for time I sacrifice for a band. I do not know if the band could be as popular as Sabaton here in Poland but you may find for yourself reading this text.
Lyrics are about honour, magic shrines, fighting for freedom and always letting your sword cut off the head of the enemy in danger times of war or peace wherever this threaten your dignity. That`s so accurate that a song Fire Walk With Me is symbolic, like cloud of fire that spreads out over this album and you just riding it like devil his motorcycle. Carnal Agony delivers decent, ease and melodic songs with crispy, savage vocals and I kind of admire those themes are told and catching attention from start to the end of the album. Warlike choruses in places have its good taste too. The band offers a sound that is power metal on first place with some thrash influences (War Prayer, Carnal Agony) and heavy metal that holds dynamics of the album in certain way. In my opinion album wins as guitars and vocals create the epicentre of the whole enjoyment and it quite often happens here. When I think about songs like The Frozen Throne, Rebellion, Crystal Lake, Secrets Within The Shrine and Together we`re lost I only have good memories attached to this album and to Carnal Agony from now on.
