Canvas Black
Canvas Black
Independent CD EP
It`s going so cool starting with this New Year. Here is another Norwegian band that can seriously disturb you by their experimental death metal that turns and twists to unexpected song writings so many times on this 5 songs EP. This is kind of progressive death metal I have always respect for pushing the envelope to another level. I can tell you why such band like Canvas Black keeps my never ending interest to their songs.
First of all, their music complexity, challenging and nerves racking compositions are hypnotizing and I listen to it like with open mouth over and over again to discover new elements in their music even if I know from the beginning that they are so fucking shape with their music.
Second, this band cares for how they sound and it`s really heavy wall of powerful guitars masterpieces produced in a way I admire with all details here. Canvas Black is both awesome in opposition to as harmonic and to as disharmonic songs progresses. I like their unpredictability and artistic narcissism. Only some instrumental technical death metal bands and almighty Gorguts have talent and imagination to make it works so well as Canvas Black. Synthesizers make band`s music bizarre with such elegant notes twists as plenty of them in every song. Almost like in a spooky ghost stories movies when you meet asshole clown on the screen that want to kill you in most mocking way. I wish vocals here could be pushed a bit better but overall, that`s a must have EP for aristocracy of death metal fans over the world. I have played it like 10 or more times already and I`ll be amazed much longer.
The band is wrapping up a new material in the studio as I`m writing these words and from any point now on I am so curious in waiting to hear how it goes.
These people have signed the EP for me:
Magnus Røed - Vocals, Martin Aadland - Guitar & vocals, Adam Sjåstad - Guitar, Christian Fredrik Steen - Bass, Morten Pedersen - Guitars & FX, Felix Emanuel Ljungquist - Drums
