Black Rock
Arcane Remorseless
Mythrone Promotion/Defense
Each metal album comes from a rock genre, in one way or another. So, you could say that these Finns wisely thought about choosing a name for their band. Generally, this album has a steel, rocking harder songs, but I think I should specify it, because it is just the most ordinary metal album that honors an old metal bands, about which I will write later...
After the first seconds I made a dissatisfied face because the sound was like from a rehearsal room but, I am in metal music for a long time to discourage me from such an unimportant detail ... In fact, the album sounds like a rehearsal, as if recorded somewhere in the corners of the basement with a candle in the middle of room. Has to admit that band`s music quickly bribed me to their side.
And now, few words about what this album is like. Every song and every minute of it is played to the glory of Hellhammer and Celtic Frost - Hellhammer is definitely more influential here. The same, primitive guitar style of playing, just a primal, elementary drumbeats, singing is not far away from the style of T.G.Warrior as well. If you are disappointed that Helhammer has not recorded that much songs, and you would`d like more music like that, Black Rock is perfect for filling this void.
The band often refers to songs of both Hellhammer and Celtic Frost, by playing characteristic guitar riffs which always resemble something from albums of these two legendary bands. You can label the style of the band as black metal or black`n`roll, it`s up to you, but in the end it`s just obscure sounding Black Rock metal album.
