I can`t understand why Quorthon despised lyrical content of his first albums including this one, of course.It was though, savage, dirty mind reflections of this young musician which is great as time said. Musically -Under the sign of the black mark is just essence of darkness. All what black metal remains is contained in every song in this album which is extremely difficult to approach by countless bands of black metal scene nowadays.
