Axe Crazy
Angry Machines
Independent CD
Pure Steel/Pure Underground Records Vinyl
Sometime I appear in a venue with live bands in and without expectations at all, some of them, suddenly making proper show to my ears and eyes. It has happened to me while watching Axe Crazy, a band from nowhere a minute before becoming my favourite 40 minutes after. I can tell, their live performance reflects their studio efforts pretty well and this is my review about this perspective, talented heavy metal band Axe Crazy and their 4 songs EP.
This Polish band is amazing in guitars creativity as it lengths in every song. There are not just speed, shredding guitars which is always good to have but most important, they put huge amount of effort in crafting those tracks in details and final effect is just groundbreaking. The music spreads its enthusiasm, catching attention as melodies penetrate your senses. Great solos and rhythms are mood changing from very good to excellent and they are class to it. For long time since I remember, I can easily enjoy every word vocalist sings and for me that means only one true thing; he is a great singer with crystalline clean voice and he gives it 100 percent. It is just works for me very well as a record and I am encouraged to mind band like Axe Crazy having around. All 4 songs are my infinite favorites and it does not seem they could ever do it otherwise which is always a good sign.
They could be wonderfully supporting act for Iron Maiden or Halloween and I would not be surprised if that happens some day. To some degree this Ep is sort of tribute to those bands but at the same time my impression goes further. I see Axe Crazy as a band with own identity and natural ability to confirm that in recordings as Angry Machines or they just can give you a big shout out performing live shows with dedication.
Awesome band. Must have CD or vinyl in your collection of recent hard&heavy masterpieces or just exceptional good records if you like.
Axe Crazy are:
Robson Bigos - Guitar, Back Vocals
Andrzej Heczko - Drums
Michael Skotnicki - Vocals
Kamil Pieściuk - Bass
