First time when I heard music of this band was after they released their second album which was a few years ago. I thought about them as a Russian answer to Helloween. On new album, they still kind of remind that German band but more when comes to vocals which boost music and songs of Chame-Leon to finest quality. Nikita Gaydukov, the singer for Chameleon does melodic vocals instantly, also choirs and choruses, most of his performance is super catchy, his vocal scale is magnificent, he focus most of attention when I listen to this album. I do not want to sound too much overwhelming but this guy is a stunning heavy metal front-man and he does what`s right for the band. His vocal lines go independently to music (instruments) which is more difficult to do than following guitar patterns and sing along to it.
It`s heavier and very dynamic album first, and it`s fast record as well - speedy guitar shreds and classy solos. I was surprised to hear that production of the album, some guitar ideas and sound is sort of metal core in a way, so they do not have a clean heavy metal sound to their songs but kind a mix of both. Although do not have any doubts that it`s surely power/heavy metal album in the core of music . They use keyboards and effects in songs - quite on full-time terms, where they combine techno music with cinematic passages which may sounds very colourful and spectacular, not only for metal audiences.
It really is memorable heavy metal album. 6-7 songs here could be easily a single promoting the album for different reasons. I do not know what a status of this band is in Russia but for me, they play just great and people over there should be proud of having such band to play for them and making albums for them (for you too if you read this). This is best of heavy metal kind of record because it`s hard to pick up just 2 or 3 favorite tracks off the album, so... Хаме-леоН is the band that you should know and C.O.D.E. is the album you must have in your collection.
